Learn to express yourself boldly – without fear
“Speech is power: speech is to persuade, to convert, to compel.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
WHY STUDY PUBLIC SPEAKING?
Our Public Speaking classes pave the way for students to communicate persuasively; with ease, poise and confidence.
Students learn about voice projection, articulation, modulation, vocal and facial expression, and posture; through activities like storytelling, improvisation, breath control, deportment, sight reading, scene study, and the recital of prose, poems and tongue-twisters.
Students will also be given tuition in writing a compelling, well structured and researched speech.
Students will have regular opportunities to perform in front of a discerning audience for constructive criticism and performance experience. They will have the opportunity and support to perform competitively in a variety of tournaments.

Many children and adults harbour a fear of speaking in public, or feel self conscious socializing with peers. Many fear being ridiculed or being the centre of attention. If these fears are challenged effectively they can be extinguished or never develop in the first place.
Mastering the ability to communicate persuasively and expressively, is a life skill that will serve a student in the classroom, tournaments, workplace, special events, interviews, and the world at large.
